Can you tell us a bit about your education and career background?

An aspiring Data Scientist with a background in computer science and marketing.

Why did you choose to study at BrainStation?

I was looking for an in-class experience with hand-on projects. I wanted to learn the theory and apply it directly to a task to best prepare myself for a career in the field. BrainStation offered that along with a very welcoming environment for success.

What motivated you to switch careers?

Feeling unfulfilled and capable of more, I wanted to further develop my passion for data and analysis by taking it to the next level with machine learning and utilization of big data.

The highlights were the skills learned, projects completed, and confidence gained to start a new career in data along with being surrounded by such amazing like-minded peers.

How would you describe your learning experience at BrainStation?

Overall: brisk, but enriching. We went over a lot of content but doing projects really help nail down the concepts by applying those skills and theories taught in lectures. My Educators and Teaching Assistants were great and very knowledgeable.

What was the highlight of the Diploma program?

The highlights were the skills learned, projects completed, and confidence gained to start a new career in data along with being surrounded by such amazing like-minded peers is very inspiring and motivating.

What was the most challenging part of your learning experience?

Keeping up with the lightning-fast pace of the program. There is a lot of technical information in a short period of time. You definitely need to stay on top of it to succeed.

What would you say were the most valuable skills you learned?

Communication and confidence.

What advice would you give to professionals considering a BrainStation Diploma program?

Do it! Visit the campus on Demo Day and witness for yourself what is possible with the program. The passion the students have for their projects is inspiring.
